So, why moss poles?

Throughout my time as a plant collector, Whenever I purchased a plant secured on a pole; the pole would be made of coco coir. Now don’t get me wrong the coco coir poles work good and support plants great, BUT have YOU ever had to remove a plant that has ‘grown into’ the pole? If you have then you know what I’m saying. If you have not yet encountered a coco coir pole let me save you the trouble and advise you to shop our product! Here’s the deal with moss poles - the purpose is to support the weight of the plant: when doing this you can additionally provide nutrients and moisture directly to the plant if you are using one of our handmade sphagnum moss poles instead of the others.

What is it?

Handmade Sphagnum moss poles. Dried and ready for use. Just add water! Bury the stake end of pole in your substrate of choice. Depending on what pole you buy you can place the moss pole in the center of the plant or towards the back/front of the pot. (For half-moon poles I strongly recommend placing the backside of the pole against the inner rim of the pot so you can maximize your room for roots). After positioning roots in the soil, CAREFULLY secure your vining or aroid plants to the pole using jute rope or garden ties. Try to get any nodes or air roots close to the pole and they will do the rest of the work. *Moss poles work hard to deliver nutrients and moisture to the plant via air roots. Our poles also support the heavy weight of mature plants and provide the perfect environment for smaller plants to reach their full potential leaf size while still remaining upright and narrow*

The Product(s):

Our Standard Sphagnum Moss Pole comes in three sizes. perfect for ALL vining and aroid plants to create a 360 degree piece of artwork and to add dimension to your plant.

Half-Moon Moss poles boasts a Semi-circle shape and sheer plastic backing that keeps moss moist up to three times longer than our standard poles. results in a front facing and tidy plant. Half-Moon design cuts watering time in half.
